The Patagonia Women's R1 Air Fleece Jacket is the full-zip women's version of Patagonia's most breathable technical fleece — a lightweight midlayer built for high-output activities in cool conditions where managing heat and moisture matters as much as providing warmth. The fabric is a 100% recycled polyester jacquard fleece constructed with hollow-core yarns in a distinctive zigzag pattern, which simultaneously maximises airflow and minimises bulk, allowing excess body heat to escape rather than accumulating beneath a shell. The result is a fleece that can be worn for longer without becoming clammy during dynamic efforts on the mountain.

The full-zip design allows rapid venting and easy on/off without disrupting a layering system, and the slim fit is specifically shaped for easy layering beneath ski and snowboard jackets without creating uncomfortable pressure points. Off-shoulder seams sit comfortably under pack straps and harnesses. A zippered left-chest pocket provides secure storage for small essentials, and two front pockets with minimal, low-bulk zippers provide additional storage without adding unnecessary weight.
